MphasiS's impressive performance - The Economic Times, Oct 17 2001

THE MPHASIS BFL Group's consolidated net profit increased to Rs 8.98 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2001, compared to a net loss of Rs 2.18 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2000, representing an improvement of 512 per cent.

Consolidated revenues in the current quarter increased 13 per cent over the corresponding quarter of the previous year to Rs 76.29 crore compared with Rs 67.81 crore, the company said in a release.

Selling, general and administrative expenses fell significantly to Rs 22.44 crore representing 29.4 per cent of revenue this quarter, compared to Rs 23.52 crore, or 34.7 per cent of revenues, in the corresponding quarter last fiscal year, it said.

Revenues grew 5.5 per cent on a quarter-on-quarter basis. Net profits on a quarter-on-quarter basis increased 64 per cent, the release said.

The half-year consolidated net profit to September 30, 2001, stood at Rs 14.45 crore against a net loss of Rs 8.17 crore in the half-year ended September 30, 2000, the release added. (PTI)
