MPHASIS’ DIVESTITURE AND TRANSFORMATION ON AZURE ENABLED A LEADING RETAIL MANUFACTURER TO ACHIEVE A 20% TSA COST SAVING

THE CLIENT

 

Our client is a leading retail manufacturer.

THE OBJECTIVE

With an impending carve-out, the client was looking to

  • Carry out an IT assessment of the current estate (including their applications, infrastructure and processes)
  • Carve out applications and infrastructure divisions from the parent company
  • Design and build a reliable Cloud infrastructure in Azure
  • Recommend a Future Mode of Operation (FMO), and establish the transformation roadmap
  • Rationalize service desk operations to improve operational efficiency.

THE SOLUTION

 

Through a phased and low-risk carve-out strategy for all applications (SAP, BI, Sharepoint, etc.) infrastructure (cloud, data centers) and processes, we enabled our client to complete the transformation with no business disruption.


Deploying InfraGenie™- Cloud Ops, our proprietary and intelligent integrated service management and automation platform for managing hybrid environments, we completed a seamless carve-out of applications and infrastructure from the parent company and intelligent service transformation in a hybrid environment.


Additionally, we designed and built a reliable Cloud infrastructure in Azure, and executed integration and rewiring and synchronization of SIT / UAT across applications. recommended future mode of operations (FMO), and rationalized service desk operations to improve operational efficiency. Our value-added initiatives included

  • Varied disposition strategies (Greenfield, Brownfield, Lift&Shift) for applications
  • Data validation and VM copy process for carve-out
  • Automated test scripts for testing
  • Two cycles of testing before cut-over

A rich set of tools and technologies were deployed (SAP — ECC, PO, EPM / BPC, BW, Prometheus; JDA; BPCS; MicroStrategy).
