The Client offered a whole gamut of best-in-class services under various categories such as Waste Management - hazardous, municipal, biomedical & e-waste; Recycling - waste water, paper, plastic and integrated waste. In addition, they also offer renewable energy, consultancy and integrated environment services.
Business need for the client was to reduce infrastructure cost by moving to cloud infrastructure that will support growth and help to enter new market segments. This will offer client the better possibilities to increase the utilization, stability and elasticity to scale.
The client was looking to implement an efficient and seamless carve-out of its Applications & Infrastructure from the parent company, and wanted a partner to execute the following :
With a focus on executing a risk-free carve-out, we deployed cloudification to bring tremendous efficiencies across the IT estate.
We leveraged our proprietary carve out framework to separate the applications (SAP and non-SAP) and infrastructure (security and end user services) of the parent and divested companies. Designing the infrastructure transformation to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) , we migrated application workloads to a cloud infrastructure, rationalized applications and hardware sizing, and implemented ITIL processes — before finally, deleting data from both parent and divested companies. We deployed automated test scripts for testing and three cycles of iteration and mock testing before cut-over, thereby ensuring a smooth go-live.
The tools and technologies we leveraged included
10+ years of data, 50+ legal entities and 300+ business processes of 400+ sites across 23 states were successfully carved out in a totally risk-free manner with cloudification, bringing in tremendous efficiencies across the IT estate.
