Support research on Digital Accessibility, in partnership with the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.

According to the recent World Report on Disability published by the World Health Organization (WHO) and World Bank, 15% of the world's population has a disability; which is approximately one in seven people. Understanding the technology needs of People with Disabilities (PwD) and providing workable solutions is the key.

In light of this, Mphasis has partnered with the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore to set up the Research Chair on Digital Accessibility and Inclusion. The proposed chair intends to:

  • Create thought leadership through research in the area of inclusion through accessibility, and
  • Aid careers of persons with disabilities by collating, systematizing and disseminating global best practices in the area of accessibility (organizational environment, services and products)

Importance would be given to designing a roadmap for organizational policy makers, researchers, practitioners and students to address critical gaps in research and development in digital accessibility.

Dr. Mukta Kulkarni, whose research interest is in the area of organizational diversity management and forms of social inclusion, is Mphasis chair of Digital Accessibility & Inclusion Research at IIMB.
