THE NEXT FIVE YEARS PROVIDE A HISTORIC BPO OPPORTUNITY
Business Standard
MphasiS chairman Jaithirth (Jerry) Rao might have been just another Citibanker had not the bank posted him to California. When Rao arrived in California in 1995, the Internet had become hot. Rao quit Citibank in mid-1998. Went and met Rick Braddock who in 1991-1992 had been president of Citicorp and Raos mentor. Braddock was Raos first angel investor. P.C. Chatterjee of the Soros Chatterjee group too came on board, as did ING Barings. Rao collected over $4.5 million. The call centre business, it may easily overtake our other businesses. Were talking about triple digit growth for three years. The next five years provide a historic BPO opportunity. Youre talking about hundreds of thousands of jobs, maybe millions of jobs, says Jaithirth(Jerry) Rao, Chairman, MphasiS. |
