Mr. Sunil Gulati joined Mphasis as an Independent Director of the Company in April 2024.
He is a Michael Dakolias Senior Lecturer in economics at the Economics Department of Columbia University and brings with him a wealth of academic and professional experience. He began his journey with Columbia University in 1986 serving as a faculty member for four years. In 1991, he ventured into international development with the World Bank's Young Professionals Program serving as a country economist for Moldova. After spending several years as an executive at World Cup USA 1994 and as a founding member of Major League Soccer he returned to Columbia University in 2003.
Hailing from Allahabad, India, Gulati's influence extends beyond academia into sports, particularly soccer. He has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of U.S. Soccer since the early 1980s, contributing significantly to the rise of the U.S. National Teams. He was elected U.S. Soccer President in 2006 and subsequently re-elected in 2010 and 2014. He served the sport at the international level as a member of the FIFA Executive Committee from 2013 to 2021 and on various committees and task forces, including the Independent Governance Committee, which provided recommendations for structural changes within FIFA.
He currently serves as the Chairman of UEFA's Club Financial Control Body and holds a directorship on the Board of T20 World Cup USA Inc. Gulati also serves as a trustee at Bucknell University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1981. Gulati's academic journey includes earning his M.A. and M. Phil. in Economics from Columbia University.
Mr. Girish Paranjpe joined the Board of Mphasis on October 01, 2024.
Mr. Girish Paranjpe is a co‐promoter of Exfinity Venture Partners, a venture fund which invests in tech start-ups. He is a General Partner at Exfinity and a member of the Investment Committee. Mr. Paranjpe also serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Axis Bank Limited, CRISIL Limited, Max Life Insurance Company Limited and Modenik Lifestyle Private Limited. Mr. Paranjpe is also a Director at IBS Plc. He has over 35 years of experience in the corporate world, holding various positions in companies such as Bloom Energy, Wipro, and Wimco.
Mr. Paranjpe began his career in 1982 as a management consultant at what is now Deloitte. He moved to Wipro in 1990, where he became the Joint CEO of Wipro's IT business and a member of the Board of Directors in 2008. After a 21-year stint at Wipro, Mr. Paranjpe left to join Bloom Energy in 2011 as the Managing Director of Bloom International. He was responsible for all international operations of Bloom Energy. In 2013, he joined Axis Bank as a Director.
Mr. Paranjpe has represented the IT Industry in various public forums including the Prime Minister’s Task Force on Information Technology, NASSCOM, International Advisory Board of Credit Agricole and leading global business schools.
Mr. Paranjpe is a commerce graduate and fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
A distinguished leader in the IT services industry, Nitin Rakesh joined Mphasis as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Director in January 2017.
Prior to joining Mphasis, Nitin was the CEO and President of Syntel (a NASDAQ listed IT services company). He has a proven track record of delivering profitable growth at industry-leading operating margins. Before he was appointed as the CEO of Mphasis, he served as President, Americas for Syntel, where he headed business development and North American operations.
Nitin has deep domain expertise in banking, financial services, and insurance verticals. He has strong customer-orientation, large deal experience, and a track record of delivering transformative digital solutions. He also has an entrepreneurial mindset, focusing on launching innovative new service offerings in automation and beyond.
Nitin served at Syntel in various capacities (most recently as the CEO) between 2012 and 2016 and also before that from 2002 to 2008.
From 2008 to 2012, he served as the CEO and Managing Director of Motilal Oswal Asset Management Company. At the Crisil - S&P Mutual Fund Awards in 2010, the company won the ‘Most Innovative Mutual Fund, India’ and at the 2011 Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) Awards in New York, the company was named ‘Most Innovative ETF, Asia Pacific.’
He has also worked with The Chatterjee Group (TCG Group), a transnational private equity and investments firm as the Head of Banking and Financial Services and Sales for TCG Software Services, between 1999 to 2002.
Earlier in his career, Nitin worked for Unit Trust of India, setting up offshore mutual funds and secondary market research cell, product development, and risk management divisions.
American Business Awards 2018 recognized Nitin as ‘Executive of the Year - Computer Services,’ felicitating him with Gold Stevie under the management award category.
Nitin holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering from Delhi Institute of Technology, University of Delhi; and received his master’s degree in management from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. He is also an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s CEO Workshop.
Amit Dalmia joined the Board of Mphasis in September 2016. He is also an Executive Director in the Corporate Private Equity group in Blackstone and is based in Mumbai. After joining Blackstone in 2010, he has primarily been involved in creating and driving value-added initiatives across Blackstone portfolio companies in India. Before joining Blackstone, Amit gained diverse operational experience at Hindustan Unilever India (HUL) in various management and business leadership roles ranging from finance and accounts to commercial and supply chain. He has undergone a management training program with the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad; and subsequently worked extensively on in-company training at Unilever. Amit is a chartered accountant (CA), company secretary (CS), and cost accountant (ICWA) with three gold medals for securing first ranks in the country. He has also completed a bachelor’s degree in commerce (Hons.) from St. Xaviers' College, University of Kolkata, India.
