Mphasis CSR is committed to bringing social change by applying the power of technology and disruptive solutions. With a strong belief that technology can play a transformational role for positive outcomes in the areas of education, livelihood creation and equitable development, Mphasis CSR has undertaken several programs across these four focus areas.

 

INCLUSION

 

Museum of Art and Photography

Mphasis and MAP entered into a 5 year partnership, with the objective to create a barrier free space so that the museum can be accessible for persons with disabilities and senior citizens. This includes infrastructure (accessible website, accessible signage, accessible technology), programs (education and outreach, exhibition), structural work as well as interiors under the expert guidance of Diversity and Equal Opportunity Center (DEOC).

The Museum of Art & Photography is an art museum based in Bangalore, India that will manage collections of Indian art, textiles, photography, craft, and design objects spanning from the 12th century to the present.

The/Nudge LifeSkills Foundation – Project

Mphasis entered into partnership with The/Nudge Foundation to support them over a period of 4 years, to run incubation and accelerator programs under the Centre for Social Innovation.

The/Nudge LifeSkills Foundation is an Indian non-profit organization established in July 2015 in Bengaluru. The foundation's focus areas are poverty and unemployment in India.

National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People

The partnership with NCPEDP involves advocacy-based efforts to drive policy change and the effective implementation of existing policies for improving the cause of persons with disabilities. A second facet of the program involves NCPEDP-Mphasis Universal Design Awards, which are given away every year to those who have been doing exemplary work towards improving accessibility, spearheading the cause of accessibility and inclusion. The program has been very successful and has won the prestigious Zero Project Awards at UN, Vienna in 2019.

Mphasis F1 Foundation partnered with AVAS/Arcause to sensitize citizens and NGOS to the needs and aspirations of women, children, the elderly, differently abled and other vulnerable sections of society and to create general awareness within the community of Architects, Engineers, Designers and others in the Construction Industry (ACED Community) on barrier free environment and Universal Design Principles though a collective march and allied campaigns.

Mphasis and Magic Bus partner to execute Cloud Based Skilling Program for graduates to upskill

Magic Bus works with children and young people taking them on a journey from Childhood to Livelihood and out of poverty. The cloud practitioner’s certification program in partnership with Amazon Web Services prepares graduates from lower socioeconomic backgrounds for entry cloud computing positions and connects them to potential employers. The program aims to upskill 800 young graduates and place them in three cities and four centers.

IIT Madras and Mphasis collaborate to accelerate applied research in Quantum Computing

Mphasis collaborated with IIT M for fundamental and applied research in quantum technologies and to set up a Quantum Lab, that address real-world business and societal challenges. The partnership will fortify India’s leadership in quantum information, develop comprehensive training, and create quality resources for education and training in quantum computing. Together, IIT M and Mphasis, would enable the development and attraction of talent to the quantum ecosystem by offering a limited number of high-value top-up scholarships to students.

Mphasis Laboratory for Machine Learning and Computational Thinking at Ashoka University

Mphasis has partnered with Ashoka University to set up a laboratory for machine learning and computational thinking. The objective is to apply ML and design thinking to produce world-class papers and compelling proof of concepts for systems/prototypes with a potential for large societal impact. The laboratory is the setting for cutting edge research and a novel educational initiative that is focused on bringing thoroughly researched, pedagogy-based learning modules to Indian students.

SOS Children's Village India

SOS Children's Villages of India are committed to the welfare of parentless and abandoned children, and to strengthen families and communities as a preventive measure in the fight against abandonment and social neglect. SOS India has worked with children, communities, disaster struck and disaster-prone areas, giving hope to weary communities and families. Mphasis supported 300 children through project ‘VIDYA’, a residential care model to support children through admission fee, school fee, transport, books, uniform and other expenses.

Vigyanshaala

With Mphasis F1 Foundation’s support VigyanShaala is running Program Kalpana - an online mentoring-career coaching fellowship designed to successfully place every fellow on a high confidence STEM path with a strong emphasis on the elements of Individual Development Plan, Self-Efficacy strengthening and Research Grade Experimental Projects Vigyanshaala

Akanksha Foundation

In line with its CSR strategy of improving learning outcomes among children, Mphasis has partnered with Akanksha Foundation for a period of 2 years. The aim is to provide high quality education to children from low-income communities, enabling them to excel in core academics skills and assisting their socio-emotional development. It imparts critical thinking, creativity, communication skills among children and improvement in well – being and health of students, leading to reduction in absenteeism in schools.

SUSTAINABILITY

 

Mphasis is supporting United Way Bengaluru's "One Billion Drops" campaign

Mphasis is supporting United Way Bengaluru's "One Billion Drops" campaign to conserve rainwater by constructing percolation wells in the city of Bengaluru. Bengaluru's Lalbagh Botanical Garden, where UWBe has already built 280 percolation wells earlier, will take up the construction of additional 220 percolation wells with the support from Mphasis to cover the entire campus.

Mphasis and United Way of Bengaluru ( NGO ) and Department of Horticulture, Govt. of Karnataka have come together to drive a first-of-its-kind afforestation initiative. Under the initiative, a dense forest is being set up on an 11-acre plot, which is part of the 228 acres Botanical Garden at Doddasaggere Botanical Garden in Koratagere, Tumkur district of Karnataka. Plan entails, 1 lac dry deciduous tree saplings will be planted over the 11-acre horticulture land.

United Way Bengaluru - Yamare Lake Conservation - Mphasis F1 Foundation partnered with United Way of Bengaluru to improve healthy groundwater level and to boost the declining greenery and bio-diversity at the Yamare Lake which is aligned with Karnataka Bio-diversity, Forest Conservation and Water Security policies and Karnataka Lake Conservation and Development Act 2014.

SOS Childrens Village Solar Grid Project - Mphasis F1 Foundation extended partnership with SOSCV to move towards Net Zero and contribute towards the UN framework of Sustainable Development Goals ( SDGs) and further to have a low, sustainable energy costs at SOS CV - Bhimtal by installing solar grid.
