The client is a leading telecommunication and information services company in Australia providing broadband, voice, and wireless services to consumers and businesses. Its objective was to develop a new financial reporting and billing system with enhanced accuracy and integrity.

BUSINESS CHALLENGE

 

The client used a Mercury application and required a new billing system to bill multiple products from the customer and integrate new products such as virtual private network (VPN), hosting, international toll free, interconnect, and conference link into the billing system.

SOLUTION

 

The existing Mercury application components were a mix of core and non-core Arbor components. The application performed core functions namely, billing, payment processing, journals, collections, late billing, and exchange rate configuration. We, at Mphasis, devised a customized solution for the company as follows:

• Deployed mix-and-match of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) based (Kenan billing) out-of-the-box (OOB) and bespoke functionalities

• Delivered complex integration with upstream, downstream and peer apps like payments, journals, and collections
