A LEADING GLOBAL HARDWARE MANUFACTURER TRANSFORMS USER EXPERIENCES AND ACHIEVES SIGNIFICANT COST SAVINGS BY MIGRATING THEIR PLM PLATFORM TO AZURE

CLIENT

One of the world's largest hardware manufacturer had an internal system with 6000+ users across their Marketing, R&D, Supply chain and OEM/ODMs. The application was hosted on-premise that was geographically distributed and had a failsafe between North America and South East Asia data centres.

BUSINESS CHALLENGE

The client’s internal system had 6000+ users across their Marketing, R&D, Supply chain and OEM/ODMs. The application was hosted on-premise that was geographically distributed, and had a failsafe between North America and South East Asia data centres.

The PLM platform, however, was running on 20-year-old legacy architecture. The existing system lacked modern development and design patterns and was unable to handle tracking and reporting with respect to complex changes for a modern suite of products. It could also not adapt to incorporating new generation IoT products.

SOLUTION

Mphasis recreated the PLM platform, migrating to Azure - and deployed tools such as Azure Logic Apps, Service Bus, Power Platform. The core platform was enhanced to create the foundation for new business requirements by allowing rapid development and delivery.

A multi-PoC development approach was adopted for faster deployment, and a domain-driven design pattern was chosen for simpler communication, flexibility and a focused target approach.

BUSINESS BENEFITS

The Mphasis solution radically transformed UX and platform Infrastructure, while Cloud enablement brought in significant cost savings of around 25%.
