REDUCED RISKS OF DATA BREACHES AND IMPROVED SECURITY GOVERNANCE FOR A MULTINATIONAL PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY

CLIENT

An American multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology corporation

BUSINESS OBJECTIVE

The client needed to integrate about 200K unaccounted identities and almost 1500 applications into the existing IAM platform. Also, the incorrect coding and increased environment vulnerabilities made it challenging to meet extreme deployment deadlines.

The client was looking to transform their security operations functions, meet regulatory requirements to secure protected healthcare information (PHI) as required by HIPAA & HITECH, and defend against emerging threats.

SOLUTION

Mphasis assisted the client in their cyber transformation journey by –

  • Comply with HIPAA & HITECH by deploying Data Leak solutions and addressing data classification through an effective data management strategy
  • Reduce the risk of data breaches through intelligent vulnerability prioritization
  • Gather threat intelligence via deep web and dark web monitoring
  • Incident detection and response
  • Implement workflow automation on IAM solution for onboarding, decommissioning and renewal process for authentication, authorization, and identity lifecycle for 500,000 accounts
  • Onboard 1500 high-risk applications on the IAM platform and integrate them through SSO. All applications were onboarded using the agile method by parallel implementing build design deployment and testing.
  • Develop a digital certificate inventory tracking and reporting tool to enable timely renewal and harvesting
  • Develop SharePoint based portal for web-based reporting, trending vulnerability data and remediation tracking to counter increased vulnerabilities

BENEFITS

Contextualization of threat intelligence

Proactive threat prediction using vulnerability intelligence

Web-based reporting of all identified exploits and remediation status

User onboarding within 24 hrs. and de-provisioning within 30 minutes

Operational cost optimization from IAM automation
